Workshop: Urban Impact Models for Climate Adaptation

Barcelona

23 Feb 2026

Researchers from Impetus4Change will take part in the TerraDT Workshop: Urban Impact Models for Climate Adaptation, hosted at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC) in Barcelona, Spain. This workshop brings together experts, city planners, policy makers, and decision-makers to explore how high-resolution climate and environmental data can be translated into actionable insights that support urban climate adaptation and resilience strategies.

The event will showcase how the TerraDT urban impact models can support urban planning and adaptation policies by analysing climate hazards — including heat stress, air quality, and extreme events — and their impacts on people, infrastructure, and assets. Participants will engage with targeted presentations, use-case demonstrations, and interactive sessions designed to bridge cutting-edge modelling with real-world decision contexts.

I4C researchers, including Dragana Bojović (BSC Senior Researcher), will contribute to the panel discussion on user perspectives, emphasising the importance of user needs in shaping robust, usable climate modelling tools that support resilient cities.

This workshop is a key opportunity to advance collaborative innovation in urban climate adaptation under the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, enhancing how digital twin technologies translate climate data into evidence-based strategies for urban resilience.
