New open data from Impetus4Change: explore Europe’s climate adaptation knowledge networks
Researchers and practitioners interested in climate adaptation, governance, and knowledge exchange can now access two new open datasets from the I4C project. The datasets provide valuable insights into how climate adaptation knowledge circulates across Europe.
Understanding how knowledge flows between organisations, researchers, and policymakers is central to the work of I4C. The project aims to strengthen climate services and improve the use of climate knowledge in adaptation planning. By making its data openly accessible, I4C contributes to enabling further research on climate adaptation networks and collaboration patterns.
New research outputs
The following preprints provide analytical insights into the structure and dynamics of climate adaptation knowledge networks:
- The landscape of Knowledge Networks supporting climate change adaptation in Europe https://osf.io/preprints/socarxiv/vtshj_v1
- Mapping Knowledge Networks for Climate Adaptation: Innovation and Exchange Among Local Authorities https://osf.io/preprints/socarxiv/erxqg_v1
These publications explore how knowledge is produced, shared, and used across different actors and governance levels.
Available datasets
Two datasets are now accessible for reuse:
- Data on knowledge networks on climate change adaptation in Europe
https://doi.org/10.18712/NSD-NSD3318-V1 - Data on members participating in climate change adaptation knowledge networks in Europe
https://doi.org/10.18712/NSD-NSD3317-V1
Together, these resources offer a robust basis for analysing who is involved in climate adaptation knowledge networks, how actors are connected, and how information and expertise circulate across Europe.
The data and accompanying research can support work on network analysis, climate governance, science–policy interfaces, and the development of more effective and inclusive climate services.
