Meet the people behind the science: I4C launches ‘Changemakers’ series
At Impetus4Change, we believe climate data only drives real change when it’s turned into knowledge people can use. That process starts with the people behind the science, the ones turning research into results for communities across Europe.
The I4C Changemakers video series presents the people working behind the Impetus4Change Horizon Europe project. Each video amplifies a different voice spanning from climate scientists to urban planners, meteorologists, statisticians, sociologists and local organisers transforming climate information into actionable knowledge for cities.
Watch the series and find out who – and what – goes into our work bringing near-term climate predictions to cities battling extreme weather events! Through Changemakers, we aim to show how near-term climate predictions, Knowledge Networks, and collaboration between.
Check out the first 3 episodes
- In Episode 1 – Turning climate information into knowledge, Stefan Sobolowski (I4C Project Lead & NORCE/Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research) shares how collaboration makes complex climate research more accessible and actionable. By connecting a diverse network of scientists and practitioners, I4C helps translate climate data into real tools cities can use to face today’s challenges.
- In Episode 2 – Connecting Local Action through Knowledge Networks, we try to answer the following question: Across Europe, communities are mobilising to adapt to climate risks, but how can their efforts link up with city governments? Ivan Puga Gonzalez (Senior Researcher, NORCE) gives her answer, providing how I4C’s social network analysis of ICLEI and other Knowledge Networks helps map information flows and build partnerships that turn local insights into real climate action.
- In Episode 3 – Paris Leads with Nature-Based Solutions, demonstrator projects are showing how science, policy, and community efforts can converge. Aude Lemonsu (Météo-France/CNRS/) takes us behind the scenes of urban cooling initiatives and experimental pilot zones that are helping the city test and scale nature-based solutions—providing a model for climate resilience across Europe.
More solutions coming soon
These first 3 episodes are just the beginning. Throughout the Changemakers series, we’ll continue to introduce you to the scientists, practitioners, and local leaders turning research into results and partnerships into progress.
Stay tuned! We look forward to showing you more of the people behind I4C.
