EGU 2026

Vienna, Austria

3 May 2026 - 8 May 2026

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2026 will bring together the global geoscience community for a major hybrid event covering Earth, planetary, and space sciences. Taking place from 3 to 8 May 2026 in Vienna and online, EGU26 offers an open and inclusive forum for researchers at all career stages to present their recent findings, exchange knowledge, and foster interdisciplinary cooperation.

The programme spans a wide range of scientific fields, including climate science, natural hazards, hydrology, and remote sensing, and features oral, poster, and interactive PICO sessions. The hybrid format ensures broad accessibility while supporting meaningful scientific exchange and networking.

I4C researchers will actively engage in discussions and knowledge-sharing throughout the Assembly, contributing their expertise and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

Our project’s experts will contribute to Session CL4.9: Hybrid approaches for climate science: from process understanding to prediction and climate services, which brings together advances in integrating dynamical and statistical methods to improve climate understanding, forecasting, and the translation of climate science into actionable climate services.

This session highlights cutting-edge developments in hybrid methodologies that enhance climate prediction across multiple timescales and support decision-making in sectors sensitive to climatic variability and extremes. Participation by I4C underscores the project’s commitment to advancing near-term climate prediction science and promoting the usability of climate information for societal adaptation and planning.
